WHY WE ARE HERE

Overtime Angels is a registered 501(c)(3) charitable organization founded in 2014 inspired by the generosity, humanity and philanthropy shown by the members of the iconic Canadian rock band RUSH. We are committed to helping individuals, families and small organizations who do not meet the criteria for assistance from larger social service agencies. Overtime Angels does this by providing financial assistance to help those in crisis. Overtime Angels is committed to:

  • Providing qualified individuals with financial assistance to help defray medically necessary health care expenses not covered through insurance or other means
  • Financially support individuals in times of short-term crisis situations
  • Assist local community organizations with needs not met from other funding sources

While experiencing personal challenges, our Founder and President, Mike Rosenthal, had the idea to form a charitable organization that would help individuals experiencing a difficult time in their lives. An organization where big money got soul. He reached out to his friends, Jim Brunke and Lance Kasten and spoke to them about the idea which resulted in the creation of Overtime Angels.

The formal announcement came at RatCon 2014, an annual gathering of Rush fans that started in 2009 and grew to well over 100 people. This led to our now annual fundraising event RushCamp!, an all inclusive Rush themed weekend on a beautiful lake in the Pocono mountains. This event raises funds for Overtime Angels through ticket sales, donations, raffles and a silent auction.
